Where to Travel in August

August may be one of the hottest months for the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, but that doesn’t mean your vacation must be to a beach overloaded with sun-burnt tourists. Here, we offer three destinations for August where you can still escape the heat.

United Kingdom // Robin’s Hood Bay

The small fishing village offers a nice respite in North York Moors National Park, where travelers can hike and bike trails, including a family cycling one, and discover sweeping views of the North Sea.

United States // New England Trail

In a U.S. area known for its dense population, the trail offers an escape to more natural surroundings. Near nightfall, the temperature can fall so low, hikers may need to don sweatshirts.

Canada // Prince Albert National Park, SK

Named one of the top 20 places to visit in Canada for 2014 by Vacay.ca, the Prince Albert National Park, SK is for nature lovers. It’s known for wildlife, including the country’s only location for free-ranging plains bison.
